The Nayarit “Titan” announced the ‘Second Gustavo Ayón National Basketball Festival’which will take place during the month of March in his hometown (Tepic, Nayarit).
The 37-year-old former NBA playerhe was happy to be able to promote this new event that will serve for the development of children throughout the country.
“Basketball supports both young and old, For me it is a very big commitment, with the satisfaction of being able to celebrate it in my Nayarit. We hope that it will be repeated year after year, regardless of the place”, commented Ayón during the presentation of the event.
“We planted this seed of values, for the youth of our country and who help our society”, added the Mexican basketball leader.
The activities will begin from March 8 to 12 with the children’s categories, to later give way to the youth.
According to the organizers of the festival, the participation of 900 to 1,000 athletes from all over the country is expected. Similarly, an international clinic for coaches was announced on March 13 and 14.
“We are going to stop teaching”, reiterates Gustavo over and over again during the presentation.
“Competition is important for children, Let them face players from other states. When you play in your state, many times you are the best, and when you face other types of teams it helps you to know what things you should improve ”, he explained.
Gustavo Ayón’s first festival It was held last year in the city of Aguascalientes, and it is expected to visit various parts of the country.
