-President Sergio Salomón Céspedes Peregrina affirmed that sport is important for the development of a healthy society

CITY OF PUEBLA, Pue.- As part of the state government’s commitment to inclusion and with the aim of promoting sport in the different sectors of society, the head of the Executive, Sergio Salomón Céspedes Peregrina, inaugurated the Pre-World Cup of Wheelchair Tennis, qualification of America 2023, at the State Tennis Center.

Accompanied by his wife, the honorary president of the SEDIF Board of Trustees, Gaby Bonilla Parada, the state president stressed that this type of international event reflects the equal treatment and inclusion of people with disabilities promoted by former Governor Miguel Barbosa Huerta.

He said that, at the head of the Puebla government, he will continue to promote said vision, after adding that sport is important for the development of a healthy society, not only physically but also mentally and in the community.

“Miguel Barbosa Huerta took a first step, we continue to consolidate it, your cause of course should be our cause, let’s do it together, let’s do it for Puebla,” he said.

STATE GOVERNMENT RECOGNIZES IMPULSE OF WHEELCHAIR TENNIS

For his part, the president of the Mexican Tennis Federation, Carlos González López de Lara, stressed that the state government should promote this sport, as he said that it had been put aside for a long time. He announced that he will look for Puebla to host other events of this nature.

Meanwhile, the president of the Poblana Tennis Association and vice president of the Mexican Tennis Federation, Enrique Núñez Quiroz highlighted the boost that former governor Miguel Barbosa Huerta gave to this sport and to people with disabilities in general, at the time of thank the support of the current –

representative to carry out this event and the support of SEDIF for the transfer of the participants.

The teams from Mexico, Canada, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia and Guatemala participate in this World Cup.

Present at this act were the head of the Governor’s Office, Javier Aquino Limón; the secretaries of Tourism, Marta Ornelas Guerrero; and Mobility and Transport, Elsa María Bracamonte González; as well as the Secretaries of the Interior, Julio Huerta Gómez; of Education, José Luis Sorcia Ramírez; the director of INPODE, Yadira Lira Navarro and the undersecretary of the Interior, Andrés Villegas.
