A personal defense course reserved for the Local Police forces of the Municipality of Gatteo. From an idea born from the councilor Stefania Bolognesi and the mayor Roberto Pari di Gatteo, with whom the Budokan has already collaborated in previous female self-defense courses, a personal defense course started in January 2023 reserved for the Local Police of the Municipality of Gatteo. The project will last about two months from mid-January to mid-March.

In the course, which follows a program conceived and developed in the previous seven editions of the project, participants will learn the main techniques of self-defense, from attack to defense, up to joint locks and immobilization on the ground. The program, proposed by Budokan master Daniele Arcangeli, is based on over thirty years of karate practice together with judo and Brazilian ju-jitsu experiences, and takes the most effective techniques of each discipline. Finally, with the work in pairs and in groups, the part on the management of courage and emotions is also trained, to maintain full self-control even in an aggressive situation.

The Mayor of Gatteo Roberto Pari explains: “The project was born as training for our new local police force, being made up mostly of female officers, we felt it was essential to give them the basic tools to carry out their duties in the safest way. service, especially the one outdoors”.

The councilor for Equal Opportunities Stefania Bolognesi continues “The course was then extended on a voluntary basis to all the employees of the Municipality with the intention of helping them to build a perception of greater safety in the workplace, some services are in fact in close contact with the citizen and sometimes very unpleasant situations can arise. At the same time, at the end of the course studied with great professionalism and preparation by master Daniele Arcangeli, our employees will acquire greater self-confidence and self-confidence even in daily life. This is the great added value that we believe is inherent in the project, increasing self-esteem and self-confidence makes women stronger, makes them an active part of a relationship that must always be equal and focused on mutual respect”.
