Fourth golf qualifier will define the Bolivian team for the South American

This weekend the national team that will participate in the the South American Youth Golf Team to be held in Cochabamba (from March 22 to 25) with the fourth and last Youth Qualifier that will take place for three days in Cochabamba.

The presence of about 20 athletes is expected who will compete from Friday to Sunday in the fields of the Country Club Cochabamba (CCC), where four places will be at stake (two per branch).

In the third qualifier the first two members of the Bolivian team were met: the brothers Constanza and Vicente Quiroga, both from the CCC, who, due to their great performance, obtained the pass in advance.

In the fight

Only the first three golfers of each branch in the qualifying ranking will represent the country in the international tournament.

In ladies, Constanza is the leader with 75 points, but the other two places will be fought to the end by five golfers who have mathematical chances of finishing on the podium.

They are Victoria Suárez (with 36) and Sofía Blanco (34), both from the Urubó Golf Country Club (UGCC); Florencia Cuéllar, from Las Palmas Country Club (LPCC, 28), Tais Moreno (UGCC, 21) and Mara Dajer (LPCC, 20).

In the men’s branch Vicente is first (54), but there are four other golfers who will seek to keep the two places in dispute.

Benjamín Chávez (LPCC, 41) and Jorge del Solar (CCC, 39), Alejandro Valdivia, from La Paz Golf Club (LPGC, 38) and Cristóbal Salomé (UGCC, 18) are the ones who still have chances.

The tournament

Like the previous three qualifiers, the tournament will have three days of competition with 18 holes per day for a total of 54.

For the first hours of Sunday afternoon, the four new members of the team will be known and therefore will be prepared with a view to the South American Youth.

“The last two places are at stake. Anyone who continues in the ranking has a chance of finishing among the first,” said Nelson Saucedo, coordinator of Sports Events for the Bolivian Golf Federation (FBG).
