Four Poitevins in the Elite Judo Championship

Both students and high-level athletes, four athletes enrolled at the University of Poitiers have qualified for the French Elite judo championship which will take place at the end of March.

Amandine Merelli Busch, 21, won the bronze medal of the French Judo Championship of 2e division. This student from Poitiers manages to pursue a sports career and a Masters 2 in rehabilitation engineering, disability and motor performance, provided by the faculty of Staps in Poitiers. Thanks to this performance, she qualified for the Elite championship which will take place on March 29, like three other Poitevin students.

More specifically, Amandine joins two students of Sports Sciences, a component definitely well represented in judo. On the one hand Alexandre Mazy, in the first year of a license, and on the other Elisa Sueur, who embarked on the same master’s degree as her eldest (M1). Finally, a fourth student enrolled at the University of Poitiers will also participate in the France Elite championship, without being in Staps. On the benches of the Inspé, Amélie Plard is destined rather for a career in education. So many young people demonstrating “the strength to carry out a double project”greets the director of the University Department of Physical and Sports Activities (Suaps), Nicolas Hayer.
