When he entered the court to face Pinheiros, Fluminense had already gone 40 days without losing. The last defeat was on January 14, against Barueri Volleyball Club, in the interior of São Paulo, in the second round of the return match. From then on, coach Guilherme Schmitz’s team lined up Abel Moda Vôlei, Brasília, Sesc RJ Flamengo, Sesi Bauru and Pinheiros.
The undefeated streak gets even longer with the victory over Bauru in the quarterfinals of the Copa Brasilwhich secured an unprecedented spot in the semifinals of the competition.
The 12 points won in the five rounds took Fluminense to fourth place in the leaderboard, with 33 points. Next Tuesday (02/28), at 7:30 pm, in Hebraica, the team will have a direct duel for third place. A victory over Gerdau Minas, with 34 points, could take Tricolor back to the G3 of the Superliga.
