First in Belgium: Viki De Cremer becomes the first female (fourth) referee in a professional match | Belgian Football

Women referees have been designated abroad for some time – the French Stéphanie Frappart, who also refereed a match at the World Cup, as the most important example. Now Belgium also appoints a female referee for a professional match for the first time. Viki De Cremer, the sister of Jupiler Pro League referee Wesli De Cremer, will be the fourth official in the match between Deinze and RSCA Futures in the Challenger Pro League.

De Cremer made her debut as head referee in the female first division in March 2016. Since then she has risen steadily, since this season she has also refereed matches in the first amateur division of men’s football.
