Financial manager sensationally wins tennis match at professional tournament

What a moment for Matija Pecotic. The 33-year-old Croatian surprisingly wins a match at the professional tournament at the ATP Tour 250 tournament in Delray Beach – in real life he works as a financial manager and not as a tennis pro. But Pecotic has to go back to his desk for one round.

Matija Pecotic, who only plays part-time on the tennis tour, surprisingly defeated Jack Sock after qualifying in round one of Delray Beach. Pecotic actually works as a finance manager in a US company.

“I had to go home from work early today,” Pecotic said after his win against Sock.

“I sent an email to the whole team. My boss released me. I have to ask him for a day off tomorrow.” Matija Pecotic had already defeated two local heroes in the qualification: Steafn Kozlov and Tennys Sandgren.

One lap later, Pecotic’s luck ran out. Against Marcos Giron sent him back to the desk with 6: 3 and 6: 3.
