Falcao has been relegated to Rayo for almost a year, will he leave?

Colombians Abroad

The Colombian went from being a great contract to less than 5 minutes per game.

It is not new. And that is the most worrying thing: Radamel Falcao García has been systematically isolated in Rayo Vallecano to the point of making him not second but third option.

It was known that the arrival of Raúl De Tomás last September was going to displace the Colombian. But the reality is that before he recovered in January 2023 and could be available, there was already a clear decision by Andoni Iraola to reduce his minutes on the pitch.

The numbers don’t lie: in the entire 2022/2023 season, ‘El Tigre’ only played 90 minutes once, twice exceeded the 70-minute barrier and then became a one-time player.

But this start of 2023 is really worrying because it doesn’t even count anymore: once he played 23 minutes but then they gave him a maximum of 15 minutes and in two games only one minute on the court. Is it fair for a player who is healthy, available and has the experience that others lack to help the team? Great question for the DT.

It goes without saying that although he suffered recurring physical problems in his first year, in this he was only reported injured once, against Sevilla, and then seven times he was not called up and three more times he did not leave the bench.

If they are sending a message, you don’t have to be so brilliant to understand: for a 37-year-old striker, who also dreams of returning to a World Cup, the last thing you can expect is an opportunity where you obviously won’t have one. New airs seem to be the destiny of samarium. Whoever wants to value it, speak now!
