Everything has been aligned to see a great Vuelta a Andalucía 2023

Everything has been alienated to see a dream Tour of Andalusia 2023

It sometimes happens that there are races in which everything aligns – route, participation, favourites, development and spectacle seen – to end up seeing a race like this Vuelta a Andalucía 2023.

That’s how it has been this time, a race, a five-stage race in which the favorite has won in a storm of emotions and landscapes that remain for history, our love story with this sport.

First of all the environment…

I do not know if you have noticed each of the arrivals, the approaches to the finish line, five, seven or nine kilometers from the end the helicopter anticipating Iznajar, Alcalá de los Gazules, Santiago de la Espada or Alcalá la Real to imagine what will it came upon us.

Tour

Shots that showed an exciting route, without high altitude finishes (I remember that the Tour of Andalusia reached Sierra Nevada one year), but full of conditions along the way.

A route very similar to that of the Vuelta a Valencia that was not decided until the final minute, with the movement of Rui Costa.

Andalusia, unlike Valencia, had a coconut Tadej Pogacar who had rivals who did not endanger his victory but who did look for him on more than one occasion.

Movements like those in Bahrain, which I don’t know if they could have aspired to more by running better, or the one-on-ones that Enric Mas proposed.

The route, the favourite, the rivals and… the landscape, everything lined up in the Tour of Andalusia.

And it is that the discovery of the Andalusian interior remained in the retina.

What landscapes, what ports, the one before Santiago de la Espada, the ones that led Alhaurín de la Torre, there we see what a territory for cycling and for showing off on television gives of itself.

Only one time trial was missing, but here it was not necessary, as it would have made the gap between Pogacar and the rest more unbearable.

The Tour of Andalusia 2023 has been like the Dauphiné of 2014 and 2017, the Tirreno and Itzulia of 2021 and any of the latest editions of the Paris-Nice the race of wonders.
