End of the season for LaMelo Ball (Charlotte Hornets), injured in the right ankle

Hit in the right ankle on the night of Monday to Tuesday against the Detroit Pistons (117-106), LaMelo Ball (Charlotte Hornets) is out for the rest of the season, according to American journalist Shams Charania (The Athletic). The 21-year-old leader, already weighed down by numerous injuries there this year, broke his right ankle.

It’s a real blow for the North Carolina franchise, which was in good shape with a fifth straight victory, carried by LaMelo Ball (23.3 points, 8.4 assists and 6.4 rebounds on average this season ). In the third quarter, the Hornets point guard fell without contact as he dribbled.

The Hornets player had already suffered three ankle sprains which limited him to just 36 games since the start of the regular season. Without their leader, the Hornets have a record of 7 wins for 20 losses this season. Like his brother Lonzo (knee), who will not play the season with Chicago, LaMelo Ball will therefore begin a long road to return to the courts, but it will not be before the next exercise in the NBA.
