The 23-year-old Olympic champion has held the world record since February 8, 2020, when he jumped 6.17m in Torun, Poland, beating France’s Renaud Lavillenie from the top. In pole vaulting, the world association World Athletics does not differentiate between indoor and outdoor competitions when it comes to records.
