Next milestone for Novak Djokovic: The 22-time Grand Slam winner started his 377th week as number one in the world on Monday and drew level with Steffi Graf in this category. In the coming week, the 35-year-old Serb will secure the sole record across genders.
Djokovic’s first pursuer is still Carlos Alcaraz, who returned to the tour last week with a tournament win in Buenos Aires. The top five are completed by Stefanos Tsitsipas, Casper Ruud and Andrey Rublev.
Meanwhile, Daniil Medvedev made a leap forward. After his triumph in Rotterdam, the 2021 US Open winner is back in the top ten and is currently eighth. Final opponent Jannik Sinner improved by two places and is now in twelfth place in the ranking.
The German number one, Alexander Zverev, made up one place and is currently in 16th place. Dominic Thiem, who is in 96th place this week, is not yet in these spheres. Austria’s number two is Jurij Rodionov as number 134, Dennis Novak (140th) and Filip Misolic (144th) are just behind.
