Atlético Madrid’s Argentinian midfielder Rodrigo de Paul suffers a muscle injury in his left leg, meaning he will miss the league derby against Real Madrid on Saturday.
De Paul “suffers a muscle injury in his left thigh,” Atlético said in a statement on Wednesday, after the player underwent medical tests.
The rojiblanco team does not specify the player’s time off, limiting itself to stating that “it is pending evolution”, but, according to the local press, he could be out for between two and three weeks.

De Paul would thus miss out on Saturday’s league derby against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The Argentine was injured last weekend in the Spanish championship match against Athletic Bilbao (1-0 victory).
