coincidence or not? DK Metcalf after NBA gala for doping test

DK Metcalf convinced with unusual skills at the weekend. The NFL professional played very well at the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game – and in his opinion he even had to take part in the doping test afterwards.

On Sunday, Metcalf tweeted the inquest he received after his basketball gala. His attached smiley proves that the 25-year-old does not believe in coincidence.

During the NBA All-Star Weekend, however, Metcalf also attracted attention with a (fake) video. In the short clip, the NFL star plucks a football from an incredible height.

NFL reporter Dov Kleinmann has since confirmed that Metcalf was asked for a drug test over the weekend – almost as if those responsible wanted to check how the professional helped create the video.

Criticism of doping controls in the NFL

At first glance, a doping control seems a bit exaggerated in the long offseason. However, the NFL is not specifically targeting DK Metcalf. It is US league policy to test players at irregular intervals throughout the year.

Criticism of the anti-doping policy has been raised in the past. Several players complained about how often they were called to the unannounced controls.

AJ Brown, who just failed with the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, is one of those pros.

NFL please leave me alone with these drug tests. It’s the third of this offseason. I don’t even drink protein milk,” the wide receiver wrote on Twitter in April 2021.

Brown also doesn’t believe in the randomness of the controls. After catching six passes for 156 yards and three touchdowns in the match against the Pittsburgh Steelers (35:13) last season, he was again invited to the urine test. “I had to do a drug test this morning huh lol,” Brown wrote on social media.
