American basketball player Carmelo Anthony became the global ambassador of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, which will be hosted by the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia. Carmelo Anthony, announced as the third global ambassador after Argentine basketball player Luis Scola and Spanish legend Pau Gasol, will help promote the World Cup. “It’s the toughest game in basketball. It’s all about a great squad, talent, and having that great chemistry. I look forward to supporting all the players at this year’s World Cup and celebrating the sport globally.” The experienced basketball player, who is currently in the top 10 of the NBA All-Time Points List, won the Olympic gold medal 3 times.
