Cardinals hire Nick Rallis, 29, as defensive coordinator

Nick Rallis, 29, worked with Gannon in Philadelphia for the past two seasons before joining him in Arizona.

TEMPE, Ariz. — The now former linebackers coach for the Philadelphia EaglesNick Ralliswill be the defensive coordinator of the Arizona Cardinals with the new coach Jonathan Gannonconfirmed a source to ESPN.

Nick Rallis29, worked with Gannon on Philadelphia for the past two seasons before joining him in Arizona. Jonathan Gannon he was named coach Tuesday.

Before joining the Eagles, Nick Rallis spent three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. defensive back in 2018 and 2019, then added the position of assistant linebackers coach in 2020.

Nick Rallis will inherit a defense that allowed the second most points per game in the NFL Last season, he ranked 28th in third-down defense, 29th in red zone defense, and 31st in goal-to-play defense. Arizona he ranked 21st in total yards allowed per game and 22nd in yards per play.
