Promthep attended a football academy at the school he attended in the European country and was found unconscious in his room last week, according to the British network BBC. He was taken to a local hospital but died days later.

Also according to the report, Leicester police, where he currently lived, reported that the death is not being treated as suspicious. The cause, however, has yet to be officially announced. Duangpetch Promthep was 17 years old and studying at Brooke House College Football Academy in Leicester since late 2022.
