This year, destination Cambodia, for the new edition of the Amazones raid, 100% feminine where the competitors go on an adventure to discover themselves through sport and travel, and thus live a unique human experience.

At 37, Vanessa is a liberal nurse, living in Saint-Cyprien since 2012, Gwendoline, 31, is a health executive and lives in Brittany.

Since 2001, the Amazones Raid has chosen to put women in the spotlight and make them aware of their energy. The two Gehan sisters are no exception to the rule by surpassing themselves on each raid in which they engage, for the good cause.

Part of the funding for the raid is redistributed to local associations supporting out-of-school children. Vanessa and Gwendoline have already planned many school supplies in their suitcases, thus making it possible to equip the schools. This year again they participate in the raid of the Amazons for the association Céline and Stéphane, Leucémie espoir 29 *. Created in 1987, this association provides support to patients and their families by financing support care or accommodation for companions. The association is currently raising funds for the sustainability of APA (Adapted Physical Activity) care in a sterile environment, support care such as music therapy, reflexology or socio-aesthetics within the Morvan hospital in Brest.

Immersion totale

The two sisters go for six days, from early morning, to surpass themselves in disciplines such as mountain biking, canoeing, trail running, archery and other events, all in total immersion in nature. In the afternoon, the sports raid gives way to activities focused on meeting the local population, the Amazon raid allowing you to discover the landscapes but also the culture and traditions of the people of the host country. A sporting challenge that has been growing in popularity for 20 years now thanks to its very current values ​​such as adventure, conviviality, solidarity, team spirit, sharing with the population or even the discovery of oneself and others. , the raid aims to respect the environment and the athlete.

Vanessa and Gwendoline Gehan are looking for sponsors to participate in the costs of organization, accommodation, medical treatment, equipment and transport. Several shops and businesses in the town and in Plounéventer in Brittany already support them. They need you more than ever to continue this great human adventure.
