Tricolor top scorer Germán Cano was presented by Betano, Fluminense’s master sponsor, with a painting in honor of the anthological goal scored in last Sunday’s derby (02/12) against Vasco, in Maracanã, valid for the eighth round of the Carioca Championship.

Responsible for the two goals in the 2-0 victory, the Argentine entered the history of the stadium in the 46th minute of the second stage, when he took advantage of an error by the opposing defense and hit the first time, with his left foot, from midfield. The ball flew over the entire field until it landed inside the goal, after covering up goalkeeper Léo Jardim. The painting was represented on the painting delivered this Thursday (12/02) at the Carlos Castilho Training Center.

“It was certainly the most beautiful goal of my career. A goal that will go down in the history of the club, in my heart and that of all our fans. I am very happy for the present, it will be marked. I have Lorenzo’s museum, it will stay there along with all the other trophies. Thank you very much for the gift, ”he said.

When recalling the goal scored, Cano spoke about the impact of the feat on his son Lorenzo, always honored with the L in his celebrations.

“My son didn’t believe in that goal, I don’t think anyone believed it because the ball went to my left foot, so I don’t think anyone imagined that I would shoot from midfield. Lorenzo was very surprised and every day he is reviewing this move on his tablet”.
