The competition, which will be by teams, is aimed at both companies and individuals. It will take place on Saturday, April 15.
Cambrils will host the first edition of the Power Women Games next Saturday, April 15. The team sports competition is designed so that any woman can sign up, without having to be an athlete, to live a fun social experience with friends, family or co-workers.
The competition includes five sports events: basketball free throws, 4x50m relay swimming with support, 4x200m relay running with support, archery and Sogatira (pull the rope), and the initiative, run by Ranking Games, is designed to promote the participation of women in corporate and group competitions.
The event was presented yesterday with a press conference held by the mayor of Cambrils, Oliver Klein; the Minister of Sports, Natàlia Pleguezuelos; the director of Ranking Games, Mario Rigau; the coordinator, Alba López, and the captain of the Health and Work team, Elena Gutiérrez, and the president of the Sports Councils of Catalonia, Jaume Domingo, who expressed their satisfaction at incorporating this competition into the calendar of sports events in Cambrils and thanked the organization chosen by the municipality.
The competition will take place in teams of four women of legal age, but 17-year-old women will be admitted if the team captain assumes the responsibility of mentoring. Each team will appoint a captain, who will act as team representative. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams of each of the 5 sports will obtain a medal for each of the team members. The winning team will get the Rosa d’Acer trophy.
