Even playing with ten men in the final leg of the game, Boca Juniors (10 points) took home victory against Vélez Sarsfield (5) tonight, whom they defeated 2-1, at the José Amalfitani stadium.

In the continuity of the fifth date of the Professional League (LPF) tournament, the xeneize team obtained a meritorious victory in Liniers, within an even match.

Luca Langoni (Pt. 32m.) and Jorge Figal (St. 42m.) scored for those led by DT Hugo Ibarra, who on Wednesday will settle the possibility of getting a new title to their showcases with the final of the Argentine Super Cup that they will hold before the Board of Paraná, in the Madre de Ciudades stadium in Santiago del Estero.

The Liniers team had established provisional parity, from a penalty executed by Lucas Janson (St. 21m.). A minute later, the xeneize cast was left with ten for the red card that they showed to Ezequiel Fernández (st. 22m.)

Without playing entirely well, Boca knew how to use as a virtue the argument of knowing how to hit at the right moments against an opponent who showed little clarity and failed defensively.

In the beginning, Vélez came out to impose conditions against an opponent who could not find the ball in the middle and left space in the right sector of his attack for Ortega to always join the offensive.

After 4 minutes, the local team had already had two consecutive arrivals, which were the most dangerous in the 45m. initials

In a good maneuver on the left, Santiago Castro enabled Osorio, the striker finished off hard and the goalkeeper Sergio ‘Chiquito’ Romero diverted with effort out of the area. The rebound was left to Florentín who shot hard and allowed a great response from the former Racing guard, who sent it to the corner.

In the first 25m. he continued to dominate the local team but this greater possession lacked offensive force.

In Boca it was difficult for Ezequiel Fernández to settle in as a central midfielder and only the Paraguayan Oscar Romero put clarity in the middle.

At 18m. a shot from the Uruguayan Merentiel barely high marked the first more or less serious arrival of the team led by DT Hugo Ibarra.

And around 32m, the former Defense and Justice striker took advantage of the siesta of his compatriot Diego Godín, whom he led in an action and enabled Langoni, who marked the diagonal and converted before Giannetti’s mark, after scoring it against goalkeeper Burián .

With the advantage in their favor, Boca calmed down and took the opportunity to move the ball judiciously with the Fernández (Guillermo and Ezequiel) plus Payero.

Even the referee Yael Falcón Pérez could and should have sent off the Paraguayan Florentín, who had a yellow card and committed a strong infraction that deserved another warning.

In the second period, the development was even until the auriazul team began to delay its ranks and gave prominence to the locals who, led by the youthful Castro, began to prevail in the actions.

At 21m, an intentional handball by Ezequiel Fernández in the area led to the penalty that Falcón Pérez sanctioned and that Janson correctly took, sending the ball over the upper left corner, with Romero turning towards the other sector.

A little while later, Boca’s slap from ‘Equi’ Fernández seemed to “change the game”, which led to the red card for the former Tigre midfielder.

The game was for Vélez but the lack of efficiency in the final meters ended up playing against him. Especially when, after 42m, on a stopped ball, Figal appeared in the rival area to bill for the second consecutive weekend and gave victory to those led by Ibarra.

The local sympathizers left insulting the Uruguayan coach Alexander Medina and the Board of Directors headed by President Sergio Rapisarda.

The two-time Argentine soccer champion continues to wait in the vanguard lot, with ten units, two of the leaders Lanús, San Lorenzo and Talleres de Córdoba.

After the match with the Patronato, Boca will return and play on Monday, March 6 at 9:00 p.m. with Defensa y Justicia at La Bombonera.

Meanwhile, for the sixth date, Vélez will visit Talleres de Córdoba on Sunday 5, at 9:30 p.m.
