Betis goes back to Elche in another cruel end for the bottom team

Real Betis has managed to come back in their visit to bottom club Elche after a match full of controversial decisions for both teams and which has been decided in favor of the Sevillian team in discount thanks to a maximum penalty scored by Willian José (2-3 ).

After a great first half for the Elche team, Betis found air with the expulsion of Magallán to turn the score around in a match marked by the performance of the VAR. The Betic team, who enjoyed three penalties, went from less to more and maintains the pulse in their race to enter the Champions League.

The stormy start of Elche, capable of forcing two corner kicks in two minutes, was rewarded shortly after after an innocent penalty committed by Abner on Tete Morente that the referee indicated at the request of the VAR.

Fidel transformed the maximum penalty with class and further ruffled his team, who struck again just two minutes later with the same, now by Lucas Boyéwhich penalized a loss of the ball by Juanmi in an action claimed as a foul by Betis.

Pellegrini’s team, surprised by their rival’s start, took a long time to rebuild their figure and tried to return to the game through possession of the ball against a withdrawn Elche, but always suggestive of counterattack.

Juanmi, with a single-shot shot, gave Betis’ first offensive reply already near the equator of the first period and shortly after it was Edbar Badía who prevented Ayoze from making his debut as a scorer when he cleared a shot from Tenerife with reflexes.

Betis was gaining presence in Elche territory, although Elche, supportive and well organized at the back, managed to contain the attacks from Pellegrin’s team, in which Fekir and Luiz Henrique barely made themselves noticed.

The Betis coach was not happy with the end of the first half of his team, which was less, and gave Borja Iglesias, Joaquín and Miranda a sudden start after the break.

The revolution paid offsince Betis was much more vertical and deep and proof of that dominance came a chance from Joaquín, whose shot Clerc took under the sticks, and a save from Badía, again after a shot from Ayoze.

The game decided definitively towards the Elche area after the expulsion of Magallán, again with some suspense since it came at the request of the VAR, for cut with the hand an advance of Fekir to goal.

Betis had the opportunity to get hooked on the game after a penalty committed by Morente on Ayoze that Borja Iglesias converted with 25 minutes to go.

The goal encouraged Betis and shrank Elche, who Borja Iglesias punished again just four minutes later with a new goalnow after subtly touching a cross from Miranda at the near post.

The Betic team did not settle and went for everything for the game while Elche, exhausted and demoralized by the lost income, drained water near their area.

Betis opened the field with Joaquín and Miranda glued to the lime and charged the area with their entire offensive arsenal.

Borja Iglesias had the opportunity to sign the comeback alone with a new penaltynow committed by some hands of Roco, but Badía was right on this occasion with the launch of the striker.

Sin embargo, en added time, a new maximum penalty arrived to the despair of the local fans, again at the hands of Roco, that this time Willian José turned into a goal no time for local reaction.
