The 2h45 fight against Victoria Azarenka will have got the better of her physique. Victorious in the snatch (1-6, 7-6 [4], 6-4, when she was down 1-6, 1-4), Belinda Bencic announced in the evening that she was forfeiting and that she would not play her quarter-final against Iga Swiatek, sending directly the world No. 1 in the semi-finals. The Swiss woman said she was too tired because of her withdrawal.
