After the premature end of the season for Jeff Roberson, the MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg signed Sam Waardenburg from the BBL as a replacement.

After the early end of the season for Jeff Roberson, the MHP giants Ludwigsburg from the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) signed Sam Waardenburg (24) as a replacement.

The New Zealander last played for the Cairns Taipans in Australia, Waardenburg can be used as a power forward and center. The cup semi-finalist did not provide any information on the contract period.

“After Jeff’s injury we had to act quickly and we’ve had our eyes on Sam for a while. He had a very successful season with the Cairns Taipans in Australia, leading his team to the semifinals and was just one game away from the finals,” said coach Josh King. The American Roberson recently suffered a cruciate ligament tear.
