Pisa, 26 February 2023 – Important success in C series for the Women’s Basketball Pisawho beat the leaders Porcari at home, on the first day of the return of the promotion poule, thus moving to just two points from the top, currently occupied by Porcari, Prato and PF Firenze, and keeping the flame of promotion to Serie B burning. The girls of Sergio Ferro they won in the sprint, avenging the clear defeat in the first leg.
THE CHRONICLE – The away team immediately starts with the usual aggressive game across the pitch, suffocating on the ball carriers, but it is the home team that manages to surprise, imposing play and pace, giving the feeling of having immediately taken measures on Tessaro and companions, and carrying on 16-8at the end of the first period. The second, on the other hand, records the return of the away team, which returns to the match thanks above all to the precision on long shots, with Benedettini and teammates who, in some situations, lose their balance in the defensive phase shown in the first fraction, leaving some space too much and allowing Porcari to close at half-time at -1 (23-22).
In the second half, a few too many personal fouls forced coach Ferro to often rotate the girls and the game remained point by point until the end of the third period. In the stands, the worst is feared, above all from the point of view of physical strength, and instead the red and white team regroups and succeeds, above all with Conti e Benedictinesto maintain the right concentration and to close the match 6 ahead: an important and deserved victory, which still leaves some hope in the race towards Serie B.
THE VALUES – Excellent proof of Serena Conti who, with 16 points, was the top scorer of the match and played a great game also in the defensive phase together with Barbieri, Mbeng e Sgorbini.
