Barracas Central takes another controversial victory in the tournament against Gimnasia

As happened in the previous success achieved in the contest against Sarmiento (5-3) in Junín, arbitration had a notable impact on the final result, based on a controversial decision made by Nicolás Lamolina.

When the 39th minute of the second period elapsed, the admitted Cristian Tarragona sent the ball into the net and achieved the tie for a cast from La Plata that, even with its limitations, had searched for it throughout the second half.

However, at the request of the VAR, referee Lamolina proceeded to annul the maneuver and not validate the conquest, after a hand was seen in the previous play committed by the ‘Lobo’ striker, Benjamín Domínguez.

The truth is that in that same play, but in a previous instance there was a hand -also casual- from the local defender, Mauro Peinipil. That infraction remained without sanction.

In this way, the ‘rojiblanco’ team took the three points in dispute, through a shot from Carlos Arce (Pt. 19m.), who stopped the ball with his chest and hit it squarely to place the ball down, next to the right post of Tomás Durso.

In that same first half, Barracas Central, who returned to victory at the Olavarría y Luna stadium after five games, could have increased the figures, through Maximiliano Puig (32m.), but seconds before the youthful midfielder Defined the goal there was a hand that the number 79 of the local team committed, after going to the ground with the rival goalkeeper.

In that first period, the Rodolfo De Paoli-Alejandro Milano duo knew how to move better, managed the ball well and counted on dangerous situations (there were not many).

In the second half, Gimnasia (which came from the painful elimination in the Argentine Cup at the hands of Excursionistas, from the First C) reacted with the arrivals of Tarragona, Muro and Comba. With the overtaking of the kid Miramón on the field plus a more determined attitude, the ‘Wolf’ prowled the rival area often and turned goalkeeper Andrés Desábato into a figure.

Those led by DT Sebastián Romero had their chances to tie with a shot that Alan Sosa missed; saves by Désabato against shots by Muro and Benjamín Domínguez and a subsequent shot by Miramón off the crossbar, already in stoppage time.

The referee Lamolina deprived Gimnasia of the tie in the targeted maneuver in Tarragona and then also annulled -correctly- a conquest by Leonardo Morales, due to the advanced position of the Albiazul central defender.

Barracas Central will visit Newell’s, in Rosario, this Saturday, March 4, from 9:30 p.m., while Gimnasia will be local with Colón, that same day, but from 5:00 p.m.
