Badminton. European Championship: Qi and Gicquel winners, France continue against Bulgaria

After beating the Dutch yesterday, France overcame Bulgaria (4-1). Xuefei Qi and Thom Gicquel performed.

Xuefei Qi started the day perfectly, winning easily (21-19; 21-14) against

Alex Lanier imitated his compatriot by winning the men’s singles (21-13; 21-10 in 30 minutes), but the women’s doubles (Margot Lambert and Anne Tran), failed against the Bulgarians (13-21; 21-12; 10- 21).

The Popov brothers then easily got rid of their opponents in the men’s doubles (21-10; 21-12 in 29 minutes), before Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue did even better (21-10; 21-15 in 28 minutes).

France take on Germany on Thursday in a match that will determine first place in Group B of the group stage.
