Stan Wawrinka is in the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 tournament in Marseille.
The Swiss (ATP 105) defeated Richard Gasquet (ATP 43) after 2:24 hours 4: 6, 7: 5, 6: 2.
In the next round he meets either (again) Jannik Sinner (ITA) or Arthur Fils (FRA).
Stan Wawrinka was 2:4 behind in the 2nd set of the Marseille round of 16 after losing the first round to Richard Gasquet. But the Swiss fought back.
The Lausanne native, who will be 38 in a month, managed to break the Frenchman, who was a year younger, to make it 4: 4 – and in the 12th game he used Gasquet’s weakness in the 1st service to equalize the set.
