Stan Wawrinka (ATP 105) will be the only Swiss in the running in the quarter-finals of the Marseille tournament. Like Leandro Riedi (133), Alexander Ritschard (187) did not achieve the feat. Coming from qualifying, the Zurich player lost 6-3 6-3 to Alex de Minaur (23).
The Australian did what was necessary to close the door to his opponent: a break in the 2nd game to start his match perfectly and a second in the 5th game of the second set to force the decision.
