ATP > Cilic sees his coach leaving for another

Operated on his right knee on January 22, Marin Cilic will be absent for several months. This is undoubtedly one of the reasons that prompted his long-time coach, Ivan Cinkus, to put an end to their collaboration, which began eight years ago, to join the Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic (33e).

“Kecmanovic contacted me and asked me if I wanted to join him, I told Marin, he said ‘ok’ and it was done. Miomir is playing really well but he lacks a positive attitude on the court. He is a young player who needs a coach who will make him work hard and help him stay disciplined. From the discussions that I had with him, I feel that a lot of things were not clearly defined with Nalbandian”explained the Croatian coach to Sportske novosti.

Note that in 2022, the 23-year-old had collaborated with David Nalbandian and Johan Ortegen.
