At 36 and after 14 seasons, Dexter Fowler hangs up his boots

Dexter Fowler has announced his retirement after 14 seasons in Major League Baseball.

A star outfielder in 2016 when he won the World Series with the Chicago Cubs, Fowler hit .259/.358/.417 in his career, hitting 1,306 hits, including 127 homers and 82 triples, in addition to producing 517 runs .

A 14th-round pick from the Colorado Rockies in 2004, the 26-year-old has played for the Rockies (2008-13), Houston Astros (2014), Cubs (2015-16), St. Louis (2017-20) and Los Angeles Angels (2021).

Fowler signed a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays on March 31, he had five hits in 12 appearances (.417) with three RBIs in three games at the AAA level, before being released on March 3 may.
