Aston Martin becomes sixth team to reveal new car for next F1 season | formula 1

Aston Martin was the sixth team to present the new car for the coming Formula 1 season on Monday. The British team hopes to work its way up in the sub-top with the new AMR23.

Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, who came over from Alpine, form the driver duo at Aston Martin this year. Alonso takes over from Sebastian Vettel, who retired at the end of last year.

Aston Martin already implemented an update in 2022 that looked suspiciously like the Red Bull RB18. The team is continuing that line nicely this year. The sidepods are clearly inspired by Max Verstappen’s champion car, although there is also a touch of the 2022 Alpine in it.

Furthermore, Aston Martin has said goodbye to the angular nose, which has a more rounded shape this year. The hood of the AMR23 is clearly wider and higher than last year, which is a trend that has also been initiated by Red Bull Racing. The bodywork runs high over the rear suspension, directing the hot air from the engine towards the rear wing.

The new Formula 1 season will officially start next Thursday with the first of three test days in Bahrain. A week later, the first Grand Prix of the season is scheduled for the same Bahrain International Circuit.
