Controversial phase during the Conference League meeting between Ludogorets and Anderlecht. While the Mauves were trailing 1-0 a few seconds before half-time, a defender of the Bulgarian club was guilty of a nasty gesture on Islam Slimani.
The new Mauves striker, on the ground in the opposing rectangle following a duel, saw Franco Russo come and wipe his crampons on his face. He then complained about this nasty gesture, which seemed voluntary, to the referee, but he was immediately sanctioned with a yellow card for protest.
If the penalty was not a possible sanction given that the ball was no longer in play, the referee could on the other hand have gone back to the phase to give a red card to Russo for a voluntary blow.
