A call for sport, health and disability projects – MET’

actu

Because the practice of a sporting activity must be possible for everyone, including people with disabilities or suffering from chronic illnesses, the Métropole finances projects that go in this direction. It launches a call for projects aimed at associations, care structures or sports committees.

The Metropolis of Lyon leads a sports policy focused on the benefits of sport – health and wishes to make these practices as accessible as possible. It intends to develop the practice of physical activities adapted for people with disabilities received in medico-social establishments. It will also promote disabled sports activities, and adapted sport for people with mental or psychological disabilities.

The call for projects is made up of 2 distinct mechanisms aimed at different project leaders

  • « Activ’Ton Sport » open to sports associations and associations working in the medico-social field
  • « Adapt Your Sport » open to organizations managing medico-social establishments that receive adults with disabilities.

Consult the details, the eligibility conditions, the documents to be provided to respond to one or other of these mechanisms on grandlyon.com. If you are interested, you can propose a project and submit an application until March 26.

44 projects supported in 2022

The “Activ’ ton sport” scheme had already been launched in 2022. 44 different projects had been subsidized. For example :

  • The Judo Club de l’Est Lyonnais, which operates within the Woman Mother Child Hospital in Bron, to offer judo sessions to young hospitalized patients.
  • The Rhône Métropole de Lyon Departmental Committee for Adapted Sport, which offers sporting activities to young people with mental disabilities throughout the year. Sports days between medico-social establishments are organized throughout the territory of the Métropole de Lyon.

The Metropolis of Lyon works in conjunction with clubs, sports committees and care establishments to develop sports adapted to people with disabilities.
