The FC Barcelona coach was questioned about an extra-sporting fact.
Xavi Hernández finds it hard to believe the news regarding his former teammate Dani Alves. Alves was taken into custody Friday on suspicion of sexual assault. Xavi reacted during the press conference.
“The news surprised me,” Xavi began. “I am very shocked and the case is now in the hands of the courts, who will decide what will happen. We cannot say anything about this,” he continued.
The former Barcelona player’s contract at the Pumas in Mexico was also torn up. “As for Dani…I feel sorry for him. I’m shocked and that’s all I can say about it.”
Alves allegedly sexually assaulted a 23-year-old woman at a nightclub on December 30. The Brazilian denies the accusations.
