Wimbledon semi-finalist Tatjana Maria was eliminated in the first round of the WTA tournament in Auckland. The 35-year-old tennis player had to admit defeat to number one seeded American Coco Gauff 4: 6, 1: 6.
In the first set, Maria, who had to take a break due to an injury towards the end of last year, was able to keep the game open. In the second round and after a long break in the rain, Maria had no chance.
