Without Embiid, 76ers beat Pacers in overtime

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — De’Anthony Melton hit a go-ahead 3-pointer near the end of overtime and James Harden finished with 26 points to help the Joel Embiid-less Philadelphia 76ers win Wednesday night. by 129-126 to the Indiana Pacers.

Melton gave the Sixers a 125-126 lead with 2:16 left in overtime and finished with 19 points.

Montrezl Harrell followed up with a powerful dunk and the Sixers held on for their 11th straight home win. Harrell had 19 points, shooting 8 of 9 from the field.

Embiid, who has been playing with a lower back ailment, was ruled out with a sore left foot. Embiid was injured in Monday’s win over New Orleans and was ruled out hours before the game against Indiana.

Embiid finds himself day by day, the games he has missed are the only thing that has affected his MVP campaign. Embiid won the scoring title last season and averaging 33.5 points this season trails only Dallas’ Luka Doncic with a 34.3 average.
