A debut couldn’t start much better. After two minutes of play, Aleksander Buksa – in his first game for the youngsters of Standard – opened the score against SK Beveren. The starting shot of a fair for the Rouches. SK Beveren (3rd) thus misses the chance to jump to first place in the standings again.

The Polish striker was presented to the public this afternoon as the new addition to the Rouches. Earlier this season – on loan from Genoa FC – Buksa already played 16 matches for the reserves of OH Leuven and scored five times.
That had not gone unnoticed by Standard either. It lured the Pole to Liège. Buksa thanked his new club for that confidence and put his name on the scoreboard against SK Beveren after just two minutes in his first appearance.
The youngsters of Standard just pressed on and surprised title candidate SK Beveren on the hour with a second goal. Defensive midfielder Noah Dodeigne put the Rouches on roses.
Beveren – which today had a chance to become leader in the Challenger Pro League again – put together a final offensive, but the initiative came just too late.
Thierno Barry scored the tying goal 10 minutes before the end and David Hrnčár brought the visitors alongside in the absolute final. However, a point was not enough for Beveren to take the lead again.
