Tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas is one step closer to his dream of a Grand Slam title.

The number three seeded Greek reached the semifinals in Melbourne on Tuesday at the Australian Open with a 6:3, 7:6 (7:2), 6:4 against Czech outsider Jiri Lehecka for the fourth time in his career.

There Tsitsipas, who knocked out Jannik Sinner from Sextner in the round of 16, will meet Russian Karen Khachanov as a favorite on Friday. The Olympic bronze medalist also made it into the round of the top four players after the surrender of his quarter-final opponent Sebastian Korda from the USA due to a wrist injury with a score of 7:6 (7:5), 6:3, 3:0.

Tsitsipas also continued an impressive series: the Greek left the pitch as the winner in all six of his quarter-final matches at Grand Slam tournaments. However, the French Open finalist from 2021 has not yet been able to win a title in one of the four major events.
