My racket has six corners, my racket has six corners: Truls Möregårdh at the DTTB Cup final in Neu-Ulm

The Swedish top player Truls Möregårdh attracts attention with his special racket – and is successful with it. He himself says: “I hit the ball better”. But there are also doubts.

Dhe extravagance of Truls Möregårdh does not go unnoticed by the ten-year-old twins that afternoon. They shift restlessly in their seats and turn to their father, who was sitting a row behind them in the Neu-Ulm Arena last Sunday. At the same time, they shout excitedly: “Dad, he has a strange racket.”

The Swedish table tennis player, who is currently playing in the cup final for TTC Neu-Ulm against Düsseldorf’s Timo Boll, catches the eye. Not only because of his odd-looking racket, which from a distance looks like he sawed a few corners himself, but also because he plays some pretty exciting table tennis. The 20-year-old mixes his shots very well, plays in a sophisticated way and controls the pace. After a slow, short so-called Schupfball, he is able to accelerate the next one enormously.
