The sports court in Spain rejects Lewandowski’s three-game suspension

Lewandowski was given a one-match ban for the red card and an additional two-match ban for the offensive gesture. The footballer himself emphasized that he showed this gesture to “Barcelona” head coach Xavi.

The three-match suspension was also confirmed by the sports administrative court, but last week the Madrid court decided that the footballer’s punishment is conditional for the time being, and for this reason he could participate in the Barcelona derby with the “Espanyol” team on Saturday, which ended in a 1:1 draw.

However, after considering the appeal of “Barcelona”, the sports administrative court rejected it and kept the disqualification in effect.

Thus, Lewandowski will not be able to take part in the matches with Atletico Madrid, Getafe and Girona. The disqualification does not apply to matches in other tournaments.

Lewandowski is the top scorer in the Spanish Champions League with 13 goals and Barcelona leads the table, but Real Madrid have the same tally.
