The reason for the $25,000 fine the NBA gave Stephen Curry

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry was fined $25,000 following the ejection he received last Wednesday in a 122-120 win over the Memphis Grizzlies for throwing his mouthpiece into the stands.

The point guard, who will start in the NBA All-Star Game, was ejected from the game with a minute left when he got upset because his teammate Jordan Poole did not pass the ball to him in a favorable play for him.

This is only the third ejection of Curry’s career and his first since the 2017 season, proving that the point guard is rarely a problematic player and one of reactions like the one he had last Wednesday. The pilot had only been expelled in the 2016 Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers and curiously also against the Memphis Grizzlies in 2017, all as a result of the gesture of throwing his mouthpiece.

Curry has had a spectacular season with his Warriors, averaging 29.5 points per game, 6.2 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 49.1% shooting from the field, 42.2% from 3-point range, 91.8% from free throws and a 24.8 PER.

The Warriors are fifth in the Western Conference with a 25-24 record, one game away from placing fourth in a fierce fight for the standings.
