The municipality hosts the 1st test of the ‘Nordic Walking Cup’

Canet d’en Berenguer will host the first test of the Nordic Walking Cup of the Mountaineering and Climbing Sports Federation of the Valencian Community (FEMECV).

The competition, scored at the regional level, will take place next Saturday, January 28, starting at 10:30 a.m. from the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, where the arrival and departure times will take place, although one hour before, at 9:00 a.m. The bib numbers will be distributed at CEIP La Muralla, where the cloakroom and changing rooms will also be set up for the participants. The test includes various routes through the riverside forest and the paths of the Palancia river depending on the different categories. In Absolute will be 12.91 km, in Cadet 9 km, Children and Alevín 5 km and finally, Benjamin and Prebenjamín 2 km. The march is scheduled to end at 1:00 p.m., at which time the trophies for all categories will be awarded.

The event is organized by the Canet Judo Club, the Mountaineering and Climbing Esports Federation of the Valencian Community and the Canet d’en Berenguer Town Hall. In order to participate in it, prior registration is required at Mychip.es. Registration will be free for minors and 18 euros for promotional and absolute category, with a cost of 5 euros for compulsory insurance for non-federated members. The deadline to sign up will be January 26. From the organization they report that the test is aimed at federated participants or with some experience in the practice of Nordic walking.

The Councilor for Sports, Eduardo Almor, has encouraged those who practice this discipline to participate in this first test of the Valencian Community Nordic Walking Cup, of which he has highlighted his spectacular route along the banks of the Palancia river. In addition, Almor thanked the involvement of the Canet Judo Club and the Federation of Mountain Sports and Climbing of the Valencian Community, organizers together with the City Council, which “always contribute to the consolidation of Canet d’en Berenguer as one of the Valencian municipalities with more sporting events of national and regional relevance”.
