BOLASPORT.COM – Former MotoGP racer, Dani Pedrosa, thinks that Yamaha made a mistake that made the YZR-M1 only competitive when driven by Fabio Quartararo.

Yamaha became the second manufacturer to dominate in MotoGP after Honda.

Since their participation in MotoGP, Yamaha has collected 18 world titles with its riders.

Yamaha’s golden period occurred between 2004 and 2015, where Yamaha won four world titles with Valentino Rossi.

In addition, Yamaha also managed to become world champion with Jorge Lorenzo three times.

In 2021 Yamaha and Fabio Quartararo again showed their class, they managed to come out as world champions after defeating Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo).

Unfortunately, last season El Diablo failed to defend the world title, even though since the beginning of the season it has managed to be at the top of the standings.

Quartararo’s disappointing performance in the second half cost him many points, so he had to give up the world title to Bagnaia.

Yamaha is predicted to face a steep road again in the upcoming 2023 MotoGP, because from last year’s two official test sessions the racers were still complaining about the performance of the YZR-M1.
