At the same time as the World Tour (Portuguese GP in Almada), the 2023 judo year really gets going at the national level this weekend. In Feldkirch (V), the under-18 championship is on Saturday in the Reichenfeldhalle (fighting starts at 9:30 a.m.). With 144 participants from a total of 45 clubs from all nine federal states, the entry list is quite impressive. The cadet European Championship medal winners from Porec 2022 Nina Auer (-40/Creativ Graz) and Jael Wernert (-70/Vienna Samurai/W) are announced. The clubs with the largest contingent are the M&R Galaxy Judo Tigers (W) and the Innsbruck Performance Center (T), each with 11 active players.
On Sunday – also from 09:30 a.m. – the under-23 title fights will be held. 116 judoka from 33 clubs are expected. The M&R Galaxy Judo Tigers are the largest delegation with 13 starters. The ÖJV national team includes Lisa Tretnjak (-63/SU Noricum Leibnitz/ST), Vache Adamyan (-60/LZ Hohenems/V) and Ronald Proell (-81/UJZ Mühlviertel/OÖ).
