The city of Córdoba now has a new social sports center in the Ciudad de los Cuartetos neighborhood > Municipality of Córdoba

  • The municipal and provincial government inaugurated beach number 35 of the 55 that are expected to be built in the city.
  • This center is part of the urbanization and regularization program for popular neighborhoods that promotes the creation of 100 social sports centers throughout the Province.
  • This new meeting and recreation space will be a place of recreation and social gathering that will strengthen the ties of the residents of the neighborhood and the sector.

Mayor Martín Llaryora together with Governor Schiaretti inaugurated a new social sports center located northeast of the city, in the Ciudad de los Cuartetos neighborhood.

This is the opening of playón number 35 of the 55 that are being built in the city within the framework of the “100 Social Sports Centers” program.

In this regard, Llaryora expressed her satisfaction with this new community space: ”I want to thank Governor Schiaretti, because this is a dream come true. We work on it together and today the boys have a place to play soccer, basketball, dance and it is more than a Sports Center”

And he added “We all know that, if the boys are here, they are in sports, in the values ​​that is where we want them to be, in the right path and not in drugs”

For his part, Schiaretti highlighted: We have done this number 35 sports center at great speed, because in the city of Córdoba we have the support and permanent help of the mayor Llaryora who came to recover the city for the residents.” And he added “This Playón, with children’s games, is undoubtedly one more example that despite the crisis, the city of Córdoba improves a little more every day and the province is next door working with it”

The new space will be a meeting and recreation point that will provide a safe, quality environment that will favor the union of neighbors and the development of a social life in the community.

Its infrastructure is made up of a semi-covered playground, equipped so that children and young people can practice soccer, basketball, volleyball and hockey, equipped with soccer goals, basketball hoops, and removable volleyball columns with their respective net.

In addition, it has a covered housing module where multipurpose offices and bathrooms function.

The surroundings of the playón were recovered with trees, children’s games and street furniture for the use and enjoyment of all the residents of the sector.

Mirna, a neighbor of the neighborhood said: “I am very happy for the inauguration of the new Sports Center, which means a great advance for the neighborhood, especially for children and adolescents who needed a space to keep them motivated, focused on sport, which is so important for their growth. The playón is a form of inclusion for young people and for adults as well.”

In turn, Gonzalo Soria, a benchmark for youth in Ciudad de los Cuartetos stated: “This beach will invite children and adolescents to play sports. We will no longer see them sitting in a corner but here playing, in a place with lights that provides security for parents.”

Lorena, a neighbor of 18 years in the neighborhood and part of the neighborhood center expressed “This playón benefits children, and they will be able to take advantage of it with games. With the neighborhood center we were waiting for this moment, we are very happy and grateful. The neighborhood has made a lot of progress, before it was very dark and with this sports center, even at dawn there are still children playing in the place”.

The work meant an investment of $55 million by the provincial government, which is part of the urbanization plan and ownership regularization of popular neighborhoods.

Added to the new sports center, another 20 are under construction, of which 3 present a high degree of progress. The one located in the Los Álamos neighborhood that has an advance of 95%, the one in Sargento Cabral with a progress of 65% and the one in the Marqués de Sobremonte neighborhood with an evolution of 20%.

It is important to highlight that this sports center already has the actions of the Neighborhood Prevention and Coexistence Councils, formed as a space for organized community participation, through neighborhood centers, retirement centers, active neighbors, cultural centers, social organizations and religious, together with provincial and municipal government authorities.
