The American Coco Gauff celebrated her third title on the WTA Tour at the start of the new tennis season.
The top seeded 18-year-old won the final of the tournament in Auckland 6-1, 6-1 against Rebeka Masarova from Spain. Gauff did not drop a sentence at the hard court event, which was endowed with 259,303 US dollars (243,615 euros).
Last year she reached the final of a Grand Slam tournament at the French Open for the first time in her career and is now starting the Australian Open, which begins on January 16 in Melbourne, in good form.
