Naples: Assunta Scutto awarded, young European judo champion: “Symbol of redemption”
The athlete enrolled in the Fiamme Gialle sports group: “I am honoured, I hope it is an example for young people”
(Naples). Assunta Scutto (known as Susy), European Judo champion, was awarded by the councilor for sport of Naples – Emanuela Ferrante – at the Sala Giunta of Palazzo San Giacomo. The young Neapolitan athlete, winner of the 2021 junior world title, received a plaque as a “symbol of determination and redemption in the area through sport”: “I am honoured, I hope I can be an example for the young people of my Scampia neighborhood” , says the judo champion. “We want to include it in the events that will take place on the occasion of Naples European Capital of Sport 2026”, underlines the commissioner Ferrante.
