Steve Nash, what he missed to be even more of a legend

In the debate of the best point guards of all time in the NBA, Steve Nash frequently arrives in the top 10 or the top 15. We have heard here and there that the Canadian’s career was a bit overpriced, since he had never won a title, nor even been in the NBA Finals. If Nash is a member of the Hall of Fame, it’s still not for nothing and we sometimes forget some of his statistical achievements, in addition to the two MVP trophies he won in 2005 and 2005 with the Phoenix Suns.

The famous 50-40-90 club? Steve Nash should be named president. Not just because he completed more seasons (4) than the others (Larry Bird, Mark Price, Stephen Curry, Dirk Nowitzki, Reggie Miller, Malcolm Brogdon, Elena Delle Donne and Kyrie Irving) at least 50% global address, 40% 3-point and 90% on the line. But because his career average was almost 50-40-90!

Steve Nash is the only member of the club to have really come close to this feat which would have propelled him into an even different galaxy. In his 18 seasons in the NBA – even if his last with the Los Angeles Lakers barely counts … – Nash shot at 90.4% from the throw line, and 42.8% from 3 points. It was on the general address that he finally only missed … one point, since the former Mavs and Suns player shot 49%, which is already phenomenal for a point guard.

Even stronger, Steve Nash did not go far from succeeding 9 consecutive seasons in 50-40-90. Take a look at what he missed in each of the seasons in question:

In 2000 : he missed 9 baskets and two successful shots.

In 2001 : 10 baskets and 2 throws.

In 2002 : 19 baskets and 9 shots.

In 2003: 39 baskets.

In 2004 : 26 baskets.

In 2005 : 4 lancers.

In 2006 : he finished the season in 50-40-90.

In 2007 : a throw…

In 2008 : he finished the season in 50-40-90.

In 2009 : he finished the season in 50-40-90.

In 2010 : he finished the season in 50-40-90.

In 2011 : 7 baskets and a 3 point basket.

In 2012 : 2 3-point baskets and a throw.

In 2013 : 2 baskets.

The stats are not everything to judge the greatness of a player, but Steve Nash was still quite a phenomenon in the matter and we tend to forget him a little.
